(This post will remain on top all day…) Today is Free-For-All Friday! Free for All means you can post whatever you want on my blog. (OK – it means I was too lazy to post today and now you have to do all of the work for me
). Say what you want to say, share a link, complain about household appliances, etc…all you have to do is login and post!
In honour of New Year’s Eve – this month’s suggested Free-For-All topic will be:
- How will you be spending New Year’s Eve?
- What is your fondest New Year’s Eve memory?
- Do you make New Year’s Resolutions? If so, what is this year’s resolution?
Here’s how to do it:

*woohoo* I’ve never blogged on someone else’s blog before. It’s kinda neat (who says that, other than me?). Since the opportunity arose, however, here I am.
All I’m gonna post about is New Year’s. I can’t tell you what my best new year’s ever was – cuz I was probably too hammered to remember it. Come to think of it, we usually go out partying, bar-hopping, get as stupid as possible and taxi it home.
I do remember my worst new year – we went to a neighbourhood ex-hangout for the buffet dinner and dancing and by the time everything was closing up, the taxis were all too busy to stop by. One of the bar owners ended up driving people in shifts to their neighbourhoods. It was a damned cold night.
I don’t normally make new year’s resolutions but that’s changed this year. We have vowed (my honey and I) to quit smoking for a resolution – since we didn’t manage to keep up with that promise all the rest of the year. So we’ll be starting on Monday (gives us that extra day Sunday) and doing our best to talk ourselves out of a wise decision.
That always happens – my brain is self-destructive (but you like to smoke). So this new year we’re staying home, since smoking is not allowed in bars anymore. And we’re gonna watch Collateral and Alien vs. Predator and drink beer and champagne.
I’ll call everyone at midnight to drunkenly wish you a Happy New Year!

This New Year’s Eve, I’m not sick. This is the first year I haven’t been sick since 1999, when I really did party like it was 1999 at Auntie Ann’s New Year’s Eve bash. Back then, I was jobless and homeless, staying with my boyfriend’s parents and praying desperately for a job and an apartment in The City. But as the clock struck midnight and we toasted, it didn’t seem to matter so much. The DJ played REM’s “It’s the End of the World as We Know It” and doggoneit, I felt fine.
So, this year, I’m doing what I’ve done for the past few years: curl up on the couch with The Husband (only this year, we have The Cat, too), watch the ball drop, and wear my comfiest pajamas, because really, why do I want to go outside in this cold weather wearing strappy sandals? As for resolutions… well… I posted some in my blog, at italianamericanprincess.blogspot.com. Those are the ones I think I can keep, anyway…
P.S. I cannot figure out how to do categories.

What are we doing for new year’s eve? Not much! *L* I’ve got an almost 9 month old who nurses and doesn’t want to be without me. So, we are going to Godfather’s for pizza while hubby is working and then coming home. Waiting for DH to get home so we can toast in the new year together. (Hoping he gets home before midnight!)
My favorite new year’s eve memory was my son’s first new year’s eve. I just was in awe that I would be starting my first full year as a mom. It was such an incredible feeling!
I don’t usually make new year’s resolutions, but should I happen to make one it would be to lose this pregnancy weight FINALLY!
Happy New Year to you!!!!!

My brother hosts an NYE party every year, so as usual I’ll be there. I’m currently baking a cake-type thing (bottom layer: chocolate cake; top layer: white chocolate truffle) and it’s not going so well. The bottom layer looks awfully heavy. Oh well. This is why I don’t bake for a living.
Can’t really think of a fondest NYE memory. For some people, that might be because they’re always so plastered that they have no memories at all, but for me, I’m almost always somewhere else and have to drive home, so there’s not much booze involved. Hmm, let me see, there was this one year that I had two gorgeous babes at my place for NYE. Just friends, though, and while I did offer either (or both!) of them space in my bed with me, they slept on the pull-out bed in the living room
The last New Year’s resolution I ever made was something like “Be it resolved that it’s silly to save all your faults for one day and then resolve to fix them.” Better to make incremental changes as needed than try to turn over a whole new leaf.
Happy New Year everyone!
