I came across this while wandering aimlessly on the ‘net – I love it and I thought I’d share it with you:
Being a mom
We are sitting at lunch one day when my daughter casually mentions that she and her husband are thinking of “starting a family.” “We’re taking a survey,” she says half-joking. “Do you think I should have a baby?”
“It will change your life,” I say, carefully keeping my tone neutral. “I know,” she says, “no more sleeping in on weekends, no more spontaneous vacations.”
But that is not what I meant at all. I look at my daughter, trying to decide what to tell her. I want her to know what she will never learn in childbirth classes. I want to tell her that the physical wounds of child bearing will heal, but becoming a mother will leave her with an emotional wound so raw that she will forever be vulnerable.

Getting Organamized

No – that wasn’t spelt wrong – that’s how we say “organized” in this household. I think we’re about as organized as the way we say the word. My house is seriously suffering from CHAOS (Can’t Have Anyone Over Syndrome). It’s bad – when Sierra is napping I spend my “free” time by blogging, showering, eating lunch or running on the treadmill in my basement – but mostly it’s blogging or wandering aimlessly on the net. Like right now – Sierra is sleeping – my lunch is in the microwave, and I’m sitting here blogging. It’s not that I’m lazy – afterall I work out 6 times a week – it’s just that my house is at the point of no return – a point where I don’t know where the hell to start, so I just don’t start.

Thinking Out Of The Box

!@(sierrainthebox.JPG popimg: “Sierra In The Box”) A common occurance in our house is to tip Sierra’s Box O’ Toys over on it’s side and let her reach in and grab anything she wants out of it – a toy free for all. It’s hilarious to watch ’cause she just keeps reaching in, grabs a toy, tastes it, then drops it by her side and reaches in for the next toy. Friday night she eventually emptied the box, then decided the toys weren’t good enough for her – oh no – she just HAD to play with the box. It was so cute that I just had to snap a pic or two…

Dr. Feelgood

Yesterday Sierra and I went to the Dr. Our appointment was at 10:30, and once again we were *almost* late. For some reason I can never leave the house when I plan to – I always end up leaving 15 min late, causing me to rush and drive faster than I should 
We were there for 2 reasons:
#1 – to check my IUD (apparently it’s routine to have it checked every so often) and
#2 – for Sierra’s 6 month shots (a little late, I know) and for her “well-baby” check.
