What the H*LL Was I Thinking?

Posted by Janice On April - 14 - 2007

Remember back oh – almost two years ago? You know, when I had Sierra au natural, sans pain drugs etc? Well I had this crazy notion that I could do it again that way until I saw this:

So Happy Together - April 6, 2004

Wow – 3 years ago today, Rob and I were celebrating our first full day together as man and wife. I remember how happy we were – how optimistic we were about the life we were starting together. We couldn’t wait to start a family. Here we are 3 years later with a wonderful toddler, a new baby on the way, our starter home for sale, anxiously waiting to move into our forever home. And you know what? We’re just as happy as we were that Wednesday morning after the wedding – just a lot less hung over  Viva Las Vegas – Baby!

Never A Dull Moment….

Posted by Janice On April - 5 - 2007

I’m never ever allowed to cook again. I almost burnt my house down tonight trying to cook a frozen pizza. Yep – ya got that right. I set a fire in my damn oven trying to cook a pizza. Thank goodness for fire extinguishers and that hawt guy from the Milton Fire Department – otherwise tonight I’d be homeless (though that would solve my house selling, keeping the house clean issue, now wouldn’t it?).

April Fools!

Baby #2 is going to be a joker! He/She decided to play a little joke on mommy & daddy early Sunday morning. Rob and I pulled up to Oakville Memorial Hospital at 1 am with me having strong contractions that were lasting almost 1 min, ocurring every 3 min. They were powerful enough to cause me to be sick to my stomach – and that’s pretty strong ’cause I have a pretty strong pain threshold. Abby, my midwife, hooked me up to a fetal monitor and was able to monitor the contractions with it. Then Abby asked me how much I’d had to drink on Saturday – ummmm – hmmmmm – not a heck of a lot. A tea… a drinking box…. a glass of water…. I was dehydrated. Apparently dehydration causes contractions (and other gastro-intestinal problems – I’ll be nice and spare ya the deets). After drinking a REALLY big water and a REALLY big (awful) ginger ale the contractions subsided and Abby let us all go home.

About Me

This blog is about me – Janice, a wife, mother, employee, runner, softball player, internet addict and a completely obsessed New Kids On The Block fan. My blog title is about my running, as at the time this blog began back in 2004 I was a running mother-to-be, training for a 1/2 marathon. Part way through the pregnancy running became too uncomfortable for me leading me to slowly back off on my running. Now a days “Mom On The Run” is a reflection of how busy life has become caring for 2 completely adorable, yet “spirited” little girls while my hubby travels A LOT for business, though I do still run on occasion.
