Daddy Day Spa

Posted by Janice On February - 14 - 2009

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!  Did you have a good one?  Did your partner’s get ya something special?  Take you out for dinner?  Treat ya?

We made my hubby some chocolate covered strawberries – Sierra enjoyed making them:

And Brooke enjoyed eating them:

So did Sierra:

And Sierra caught a pic of me with some evidence of eating them too:

As delish as the strawberries were, Hubby’s gift to his girls was way better – he treated us to “Daddy Day Spa”:

We each were treated to:

  • a foot soak
  • a foot massage (in the picture above Brooke is getting her foot massage)
  • a nail polish change (changed to hot pink from the green they were)
  • a back massage (that’s his massage table set up behind the girls)
  • a facial
  • a bubble bath with Mango scented bubbles (all 3 of us shared the bath)
  • Chocolate Hershey’s Kisses!

The girls sure felt special – even 19 month old Brooke figured out what to do quite quickly.  (She’s the little diva already – loves dressing up, loves going out, and loves to play house).  It was so much fun and it sure beat the gift that I gave him!  I hope “Daddy Day Spa” becomes an annual ritual.

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

What a great idea! Did he come up with that himself? Brilliant.

We did a family dinner…pink pancakes (heart shaped), pink slushies and chocolate covered strawberries. Then after the kids were asleep we added some vodka to another slush and watched a ppv movie. It was great.

Annual ritual? I’m thinking monthly at least! That last pic–the strawberry looks bigger than she is! Yum!

I got a Valentine’s card, in the mail. Inviting me to dinner, early MArch, and it said “my husband knows where the boat departs”. I’m SO excited!

    hi Janice,
    What MONSTER-sized strawberries!
Sounds like your family had an awesome Valentines Day, and your husband is brilliant. I’ll have to remember that one for next year. We just went out for Indian food… but it was delicious! ~ Steve, the trade show guru

About Me

This blog is about me – Janice, a wife, mother, employee, runner, softball player, internet addict and a completely obsessed New Kids On The Block fan. My blog title is about my running, as at the time this blog began back in 2004 I was a running mother-to-be, training for a 1/2 marathon. Part way through the pregnancy running became too uncomfortable for me leading me to slowly back off on my running. Now a days “Mom On The Run” is a reflection of how busy life has become caring for 2 completely adorable, yet “spirited” little girls while my hubby travels A LOT for business, though I do still run on occasion.
