So I’ve unexpectedly come into $253.00 that I wasn’t expecting. The money was owed to me, but I never thought in a million years I would get it. Now its burning a hole in my proverbial pocket – my ass is on fire folks!
What should I do with this money?
I’ve REALLY REALLY REALLY been wanting a new iPod – an iPod Touch, yanno to replace my ever freezing, piece of shit IPod Nano (truth be told, it’s not the Nano’s fault – it’s dying a slow chocolate milk induced death). Did ya know iPods and chocolate milk don’t mix? Take it from me – they don’t.
But you see we have bills – bills, bills, bills. And we also have been putting off repairing things, upgrading things etc… Things that the $$ could be better spent on…. I could also actually SAVE the money for my girls….
But I REALLY REALLY REALLY want an iPod Touch! Yanno – to use with my Nike + to moivate me to get running again, get in shape, be healthy to see my girls grow up…
So I’m turning it over to you dear internet – What should I do with the $250? What would you do with an “extra” $250?

I would pay the bills with the money, that way… you still have the incentive to work for the new iPod
Forget the ipod touch, the iphone is where it’s at. You will have phone access and internet access allthe time + allthe other features of the touch! (Yeah, I know, bills…but spending a windfall is so much fun!)

Go for something a little cheaper and put the rest towards bills. I have a 4GB Creative Zen with a nice video screen that lets my son watch movies when we’re in doctor’s waiting rooms, etc.
An 8GB version will probably just put you back a little over $100 right now. Or you could shop around for other alternatives. I know everyone loves iPods because they’ve got docks and gizmos galore but the iPod craze is not for me… I have a bit of an allergy to popular and trendy brands.
I’d buy exactly what you want, which seems like the iPod. You deserve a treat, right?

I was kind of torn because if I were in this situation it would be really hard to not buy something for myself. I’d justify it by saying the fact that I’m a single mom and never buy anything for myself that I deserve a treat. But on the other hand I’d feel guilty doing that knowing I have bills that could be paid. So I ended up voting that I’d pay bills.
