(They dug a garden, daddy mowed the lawn and Sierra and planted corn, carrots, cucumbers, and pumpkins. I’ll buy a few tomato plants at the market soon to add to our garden.)

So far so good. Today was my first day at the NEW JOB and everything went ok. I found my way there without:
1) Getting lost
Or
2) Being late
In fact I was there early and had to knock on the door to my department to be let in, while mouthing the words “I’m the new girl”. Arrrgh! I hate being new! Everyone staring at you and making judgements based on how you look etc…
The department that I’ll be working in at my NEW JOB is almost 10x the size of my previous employers, so everyone seemed quite used to meeting new people – I’m not sure if I should take that as a good sign or a bad sign… Also, I’m taking the position of a woman who applied for my previous job at my previous employer – only I got that job instead of her. Another bad sign? (Apparently the industry I woek in is a small world).
After being introduced to my entire (HUGE!) department, I spent most of today reviewing policies and templates. I was really impressed that quite a few members of my team workout/exercise at lunch – so cool! At my last job I was the token freakazoid who ran/workedout at lunch. In fact, my new co-workers have hired a personal trainer to do a boot camp exercise class for them in a meeting room a few days/wk! I’m really looking forward to participating and finally losing those last 10lbs of “baby” weight.
Anyways – this is a short post tonight because I need to go to bed earlier than I used to – I now have a 45 min commute to work instead of the 7 min one I was used to. G’night!

Tomorrow I start my NEW JOB. The NEW JOB I posted about nearly 3 weeks ago. It was a long long process to get this NEW JOB – I submitted my resume in February, did some testing for it in March, was called in for an interview in early April, then 2 weeks later was called to provide 3 references. 3 weeks ago they called me asking me when I could start. Yay!
I’ve wanted this NEW JOB for a long, long, long time. I have the education, I have the experience and the work ethic. I can do this. I feel like I’ve FINALLY made it!
But I’m scared freaking shitless.
I have “Buyers Remorse” (and those of who know what I do for a living will understand that play on words). I feel a bit guilty for leaving my old job, and nervous about the unknown in my NEW JOB.
Will I be able to do it? Will I like it? Is it what I truly want? Will I like my employer? Will I get along with my co-workers? Can I cope with a longer commute? Will my truck cope with the longer commute? How will my kids adapt to having daddy do the morning daycare drop-off?
I guess only time will tell and it’s too late to go back, but that doesn’t stop me from still feeling nervous!
Help me, hold my hand and wish me well – can I do this? Am I doing the right thing?

Today my parents came over as they do pretty much every Saturday. Sierra and my mom were playing outside around 4:30 pm when our neighbour (who was having a birthday party for her daughter at the time), stopped by. Seeing Sierra playing without any other kids, she asked my mom if Sierra would like to come over and play on their new trampoline. Well of course! My mom said yes, and away Sierra went to jump on the trampoline with a pile of other kids. Sierra was wearing a skirt (this is an important detail to remember as I move along with the story).
I was inside dealing with Brooke’s toddler meltdown. My mom came in and told my hubby and I that Sierra had gone next door to jump on the trampoline. Hubby went into the washroom, came right out and exclaimed:
“Where did my daughter go?!”
My mom and I thought he was upset, so we tried to reassure him that she’d be ok… He kept trying to interrupt us. Finally he said:
“She’s not wearing any underwear!”
“WTF? What do you mean she’s not wearing underwear?”
He pointed to the bathroom – I walked in and sure enough in the washroom, along with an unflushed toilet with a present in it, was a pair of little girl panties. The ones I had dressed Sierra in this morning. It seems Sierra had gotten a little ummmm… comfortable while taking care of business.
I ran over to the party as fast as I could, but I was too late.
Sierra had managed to flash everyone at the party: her friends on the trampoline, and all of the parents on the patio.
Yep – the apple certainly hasn’t fallen far from the tree. At three (almost four) years old, my daughter is not only crashing parties, but is also flashing everyone at the party. *Sigh* – my mom warned me I would have a little Janice, I just wasn’t prepared for it to start happening so soon.
We’re in so much trouble when this kid gets older!

On Saturday night my hubby and I went on a wonderful date – actually we went to a friend’s wedding. With 2 young children, weddings are as close to dates as we get.
In between the ceremony and the reception, my hubby and I got to talking about our wedding, relationship etc… We were reminiscing about all of the good times, and the good times still to come.
We also got to talking about when we knew we were in love.
His response was:
“After 6 months of dating you still didn’t annoy me”.
