Ahhhh – finally! A moment to myself to write up a blog post – Yippee! I really should be using this time to go for a jog (which I may still do if I write this fast enough). I’m in the backyard typing away as Sierra naps in “Molly’s bed”, she calls the guest bedroom Molly dawg’s room, and Baby Brooke is relaxing in the swing while Daddy Rob watches some football.
I realize I haven’t blogged much lately so I thought I’d fill y’all in on what’s going on in our neck of the woods. Sierra hasn’t been too fond of sleeping in her crib. She tells us she “can’t sleep in my bed”, refusing to nap and asking at bed time to sleep in Molly’s bed. We think it’s because she’s getting too big for her crib and is rolling into the sides and waking herself up. Time for a big girl bed! Daddy Rob will be going out later this afternoon to buy one for her.
Baby Brooke is getting big! She’s found her hands and grasps them together out in front of her face to examine them. She reaches for toys, but has poor spatial awareness and usually misses. Her neck muscles are strong and she can hold her head up well, and her trunk strength is improving every day. I have a feeling she’ll sit earlier than Sierra did. She weighed 11 lbs 1 oz at her last appt., but I think my Dr’s scale is off because she’s outgrown all of her “11 lb” clothing and fits well into the “13 lb” stuff that I have for her. She seems to be going through a growth spurt, now nursing a few times through the night instead of just once. I jinxed myself by writing a post about whether I should wake her up to feed her or not – LOL – isn’t that always the way?
I’ve been watching what I eat and have been doing a little bit of working out – strollerfit 1x/week and Baby & Me Fitness 1x/week. I’ve lost 4 lbs this month, so the extra weight is slowly coming off. I wish it would come off faster as I feel like I’ constantly hungry and can’t wait to stop wearing maernity clothes! I met a woman on y street this week that has a 3 yo boy and 2 week old daughter. We exchanged phone numbers, and it would be nice to hang with her every once in a while. Although I have tons of friends on mat leave in town, none really live within walking distance. Loading the kids up in a car for a playdate is a PITA, so walking over to her place and going for walks with her to the park would be cool.
Not much is new with Daddy Rob. The company he works for got bought out by a Swiss company with their headquarters in Switzerland. He thinks they *may* relocate him to their head office in Lausanne for an 18 month to 2 year period. It would be neat to live abroad for a year or so, as I always wanted to travel, but we never had the means to do so. Though it would be really sad to leave behind family and of course Molly Dawg.
Well, that’s about all I have to say for now. I’m off now to go for a “walk/run” in y continuing efforts to lose me fat arse and monster thighs. Enjoy the rest of this beautiful weekend! It’s sunny and 24 C here!
