Boobs, breasts, jugs, ta-ta’s, “the girls”, etc…. No matter what you call them, let’s celebrate them! October is Breast Cancer awareness month! There are so many events going on to celebrate them, and raise money for them that I decided to compile a list for you right here at Mom On The Run!
First there’s the 6th Annual Blogger Boobie-thon:
The Blogger Boobie-Thon is an annual event run the first week of October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Bloggers from all over the globe send in photos of their boobies (covered and uncovered) to help raise money for Breast Cancer Research. This is the sixth year for the Boobie-Thon and our goal is to break the $10,000.00 mark. In the past 5 years, Robyn, the original founder of the Blogger Boobie-Thon has raised over $35,000 to date.
Then there’s the Great Virtual Breast Fest:
On October 10 at 10am, women around the US and Canada and – we hope – the world will breastfeed for justice. We’ll nurse our babies or bottle-feed our babies or reminisce about doing either of those things and we’ll post pictures and video, all together, and let the world know that there is no shame, only power, in caring for our children.
There’s also the CIBC Run For The Cure:
The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure is an extraordinary single-day experience that unites more than 170,000 Canadians in 53 communities across the country. Together, we’re raising millions of dollars to fund innovative and relevant breast cancer research, education, and awareness programs in the communities where you live.
Happy Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
PS – If you know of any other events, please let me know and I’ll add it to this post!
