Breast Feeding Update

I still have milk. My Dr wouldn’t prescribe me anything – my milk supply problems are due to fatigue/anxiety and I must rest, rest, rest. My hubby is SUPPOSED to help with housework – we’ll see if that happens… Sierra is doing great – she now weighs 8lbs 5oz (she’s gaining 1.3oz/day). She “cluster” fed yesterday (every 2 hours) from 11 am until 9 pm (I’m exhausted) and then she slept for 5 hours in the night. Too bad I couldn’t – I just couldn’t get into a deep sleep ’cause I kept thinking I heard her cry. She’s sleeping now – so I shall take a nap too. I’m going to try and make it breast feeding 1 more week – I hope I can do this.

Now you see…all you need is some rest and the hubby to cater to your every whim. You might want to tell him that eating dark chocolate is very healty for you.

Pull it out(no pun intended) as long as you can. You may surprise yourself. I kept saying 3 mos max then kept extending it by a month at a time. Before I knew it 11 months had gone by. Do yourself a huge favor and hire someone for the housework otherwise you will just end up resenting what your spouse isn’t doing.

Glad to hear it! Rest is important, as is eating well and drinking a LOT of fluids, body can’t produce milk if it’s got nothing to work with.

One week at a time is all you can do, sometimes you find by the end of the week that you have to tenacity to make it another, and so on and so forth.

Geez, all my kids weighed more than that AT birth!! Good that she’s growing.

And I agree that you should take eyerun’s advice about the housekeeper. Lord knows I ended up divorcing the lazy bastard who didn’t provide any help at all with housekeeping, babysitting, etc., etc. Resentment starts to run deep when you’re doing it all.

You can do it! The first few months are always the hardest. And it’s great to hear Sierra is gaining weight! Great job Mommy! As for the housework, that can wait can’t it? You’ve got your hands full enough with a new baby. I think hiring a maid is a great idea. Also, if you have friends or relatives offering to help you clean or offering to bring over a meal, definitely take them up on it.

Wow, little Sierra is growin so much! She’ll be practically twice the weight from when I first met her! :)

If you need to sleep and take care of Sierra – and that is all – then damn the rest of it!! The housework will wait. I’m sure Cosmoboy will help (esp. since it’s been prescribed!!)

Kaitlyn spent a lot of time “cluster feeding” and it eventually became normal for my body to handle (not that I wasn’t tired) I hope you hang in there!! You’re Marie though – you do everything you put your mind to!
