Toot Toot For Mommy!

Posted by Janice On December - 30 - 2007

My friend Tracy always says this when she farts – too funny. I started doing it, and now Sierra says toot toot when she farts too. She thinks it’s hilarious.

I Love To Fart!

When I was a teenager I had horrible gas. It’s a wonder I got any dates, but I was a popular gal, never finding it hard to get a date – second dates? Now that’s where I ran into problems – I wonder why? Thankfully my husband has a bad sense of smell  My nickname in university was “pipes” ’cause I smelled like I was perpetually cleaning out my pipes. Seriously, I royally stunk for many many years. Then I got pregnant with Sierra, and as the pregnancy progressed I noticed that I farted less and less. After I had her I rarely tooted. It seems she fixed whatever the hell was wrong with my insides. I thought this is great – no more embarrassing moments in small offices at work… Then I got pregnant with Brooke. Unfortunately she broke whatever Sierra fixed and now I’m stinkier than ever. Lovely… I wonder – should we have another kid? Ya know just so I czn fix my pipes back? Or would that just make me worse?

So Happy Together - April 6, 2004

Wow – 3 years ago today, Rob and I were celebrating our first full day together as man and wife. I remember how happy we were – how optimistic we were about the life we were starting together. We couldn’t wait to start a family. Here we are 3 years later with a wonderful toddler, a new baby on the way, our starter home for sale, anxiously waiting to move into our forever home. And you know what? We’re just as happy as we were that Wednesday morning after the wedding – just a lot less hung over  Viva Las Vegas – Baby!

Catching The Stick

Posted by Janice On April - 5 - 2005

Oh boy am I a louse – I feel completely horrible! Edana threw me a stick almost 2 weeks ago and I didn’t catch it until now! It must be because she had to throw it very far to reach me…

You are stuck inside Fahrenheit 451, which book do you want to be?
First off – I have to admit that I had no idea what Fahrenheit 451 was/is so I looked it up – it’s a Ray Bradbury book (in case you’re as naive as me)…

I would love to be stuck in the book “Little House On the Prairie” (I had the whole 9 book boxed set as a little girl that I read over and over…). I know – an odd answer for someone somewhat techno savvy. But the pioneer simplicity of life and the close bond amongst family always lured me to long for a simpler time.

Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character?
Yes – definitely… Todd, Elizabeth’s boyfriend from the series of books “Sweet Valley High

The last book you bought is?
So You’re Going to Be a Dad – It’s how I told Cosmo Boy that I was pregnant. I’m pretty sure he hasn’t read it, but I have.

The last book you read was?
Belly Laughs by Jenny McCarthyKimmie sent it to me. I loved it – I’m really sick of those books that tell you that you’re a horribl;e mother and that everything you’re doing is killing your unborn child – you know which one I mean. Belly Laughs is really funny and tells you what to REALLY expect when you’re expecting.

What are you currently reading?
Blood Canticle by Anne Rice – It ties my two favourite series of books by Anne Rice, the Vampire Chronicles and the Lives of The Mayfair Witches together into one book. Hmmm… I feel like taking a bath and reading some of that book (I won’t forget a facecloth to keep my tummy warm this time  ).

Five books you would take to a deserted island?

  1. The Bible – even though I’m not overly religious, I think the bible would provide me with hours of reading entertainment and also provide me with a lot of food for thought
  2. Lord of The Rings – I can read that book over and over and over again
  3. Brave New Worldby Aldus Huxley – who knew I was a scholar? I’ve read this book three times since highschool (or maybe I just didn’t get it the first 2 times?) – anyways, I could use some Soma right about now
  4. It’s Not About The Bike by Lance Armstrong – very inspiring, and if I’m trapped on a deserted island, then I’m going to need some inspiration.
  5. Confessions Of A Shopaholic – with all that heavy reading I’m going to need to readsomething fun and enlightening every once in a while

So there ya have it – everything you wanted to know and more about Cosmo GRRL’s reading habits!

**********

Okay, apparently I must pass on this stick, so I’m throwing it to:
Mark ’cause I want to know what else he reads besides Dr. Nicholas Romanov’s Pose Method of Running

I Have A Confession…

Shhh… I like curry – in fact I LOVE curry! There I said it! I like curry even though my first encounter with curry was curried popcorn. Curried popcorn is NOT good!

About Me

This blog is about me – Janice, a wife, mother, employee, runner, softball player, internet addict and a completely obsessed New Kids On The Block fan. My blog title is about my running, as at the time this blog began back in 2004 I was a running mother-to-be, training for a 1/2 marathon. Part way through the pregnancy running became too uncomfortable for me leading me to slowly back off on my running. Now a days “Mom On The Run” is a reflection of how busy life has become caring for 2 completely adorable, yet “spirited” little girls while my hubby travels A LOT for business, though I do still run on occasion.
