Christmas Wish List

This year for Christmas I only want one thing. A new computer. Not an upgrade done to our existing computer. But a brand new computer, you know, a second computer for our home. Cosmo Boy and I routinely “share” the computer. After dinner, I use it for an hour, then he uses it for an hour, then we settle in the living room and cosy up with Cosmo Dawg to watch our favourite TV shows:

Sunday – Desperate Housewives
Monday – Las Vegas
Tuesday – Amazing Race
Wednesday – America’s Next Top Model
Thursday – Survivor & The Apprentice
Friday – The OC (that we taped the night before)

With this arrangement, getting any work done for my clients, writing a meaningful blog entry, along with making sure I visit everyone on my blogroll was getting damn near impossible! At work, Websense and Surfcontrol prevents me from viewing any site with the word “blog” in the URL – so lunchtime surfing is out :frown: Over the past month Cosmo Boy has been scouring flyers to find an affordable system with the components that we need. And yesterday? He finally gave up and took his list of parts that he wants to a computer dealer. On Saturday we will pick up our brand new system! (He would have built it himself with the components, but the store wouldn’t give him a discount, so he had them build it). The catch? Our new system will have absolutely no software – why pay for software when we already have it? So – YAY! I’m We’re getting a new computer! Merry Christmas Marie! (I guess this means I’ll have no more excuses for not posting everyday).

A long, long time ago, in a place not far away, jafer and her snookie shared one computer. This of course meant that only jafer was ever on the computer and snookie had to sit beside and watch. Did the evil jafer ever learn to share her computer? No. But instead she bought a new computer, gave her old one to her snookie and they lived happily ever after, through many new computer purchases, and many a snookie-upgrade (cheap bastard snookie never bought a computer for himself).

I just bought a new one about a month ago. With every new one I buy, a snookie or family member scores another computer too. God forbid my family has slow computers. We have 4 in this home (cuz you have to have a laptop too in case you’re travelling).
