Feeling A Little Frosty

Sunday will mark my official return to running – I’m running a 5K. Yep, the same one I ran last year with Sierra in my tummy, only this year I hope to run it faster and with Sierra in her jogging stroller instead (Goodness – could you imagine me trying to get her back into my tummy? Ouch!).. Hopefully my time will be better this year. The race is called the Frosty 5K – they sure aren’t joking when they called it that. This year the weather forecast is: Sunny & Cold high of 19F (thats -7C) before the windchill! (I guess I better get that jogging stroller weather shield that I’ve been eying at Toys R Us for the past 3 months.

I spoke to one of my girlfriends today who has a 6 month old that she’s still nursing. Turns out she’s doing the Chilly 1/2 Marathon on Sunday! Wow! I thought I was hardcore. So we got to talking and she’s planted a seed in my head – if she can do it, so can I right? We’re going to try and do the Ottawa 1/2 Marathon together in at the end of May icon eek Feeling A Little Frosty Am I nuts? Well only time will tell!

I’m sure Sierra will sleep well tonight! Hopefully it won’t be that cold on Sunday. Good luck with the run. By the way, I think you’re nuts but I still love you anyway.

There is nothing wrong with a little running. And since you’re paying an entry fee… you might as well get ALL the miles that you can!

I’ll trade you – you can run my chilly half marathon and I’ll run your frosty five km. I’m starting to have second thoughts about this…

I just ran a 5k this morning, and it was about 17 degrees. It’s really, really cold at first, and then you’re really, really hot. It’s a good time…

I hope all went well…today was a beautiful day for it!!

Remember when we got those snow suits last spring….we didn’t know what we were having. And they really do work for boys and girls (but Brady doesn’t like his — it’s too warm for him!)
