Get Off That Fat Ass and RUN!

After lazing around the house for 3 hours this morning, I finally worked up my motivation, charged up my ipod nano, dusted off my running shoes and headed out for a run.  Here’s the proof:

My ass is killing me now.

I need to lose some weight. Not a lot of weight, just about 10-15 lbs.  So I figured, why wait for New Year’s?  The weather is great, I should start NOW!  So I did – I sort of watched what I ate and started running again.  I’m hoping to run everyday at lunch time and possibly do some wii fitting to complement my running.

Which reminds me….

I started a challenge on Nike+.  If you’re a Nike+ user you can join my Lunch Time Challenge – see if you can log more km’s than me over the next 30 days by running on your lunch.  I’ve already had a few people join the challenge, and one is already kicking my outta shape ass:

I can’t lose my own challenge can I?

I keep wiping out on the ice, so I joined the YMCA which has a great running track and treadmills. I’ll be running there, does that count? I’ll go to Nike and check….. Either way I’m with you on the 10-15 pounds, or maybe even 20 :)

ugh I miss running. But I am way too tired to try at the moment. I hope to start swimming in January again so I can stay in reasonable shape this pregnancy!

Don’t sweat it – you’ll be back there burning up the roads before you know it! In two years from now baby will be old enough to leave with J, and Becca will be old enough to even help him! Short-term pain for long-term gain.

Good on ya, mate! Does this mean you’ll do the Resolution Run with me on Thursday? I can still register you if you want. I’m picking up my race kit tonight, so lemme know, k? Cheers.

I would love to, only there’s one problem. The Grinch stole chrstmas and I didn’t get my promised bonus form 2007… I have $2 in my wallet to last until mid-January. Tonight we’re having KD bc Rob doesn’t get paid until tomorrow. the $2 in my wallet will be used along with any other $ I can scrape up to buy the kids some more milk. I’ll have to do my own Resolution run around the neighbourhood.

Maybe we can do the Philly’s Fool 10K in April together?

I really need to start running. It’s been a long time. I DID, however, make it back to the gym for cardio yesterday. I hadn’t been in a month and a half due to a foot injury followed by two rounds of the ick/cold/sniffles/congestion around here.
