You all were right when you said I’d feel it in my gut when I found the perfect daycare for Sierra. After interviewing numerous (5) home day care providers, I have finally settled on one who I feel will make Sierra feel really loved and happy over the next year while I’m at work (I’m hoping to have another one in a year from now) . She’s a mommy to a wonderful 4 year old little girl, and Sierra will be the only kid in her daycare (well, until she finds more – but her insurance will only let her take 2 more). Sierra will have her own bedroom to nap in while in her care! She interacted very well with Sierra – she recognized that Sierra is dying to walk, and she was walking Sierra all over her living room while we were visiting. Another selling point for me was the fact that it’s very obvious from her home and her personality that she’s not doing this for money – her home is massive and immaculate and she truly loves children. Her daycare is licensed with Cherish – this gives us peace of mind because they do random drop in visits, have checked her references, coordinated her police checks, Children’s Aid Society check, Health Dept. check and Fire Dept. check.
Sierra had her 1st 1/2 day there yesterday afternoon while I went for my 1st 1/2 day of work. Sierra had a great time and was napping when I arrived to pick her up. I had to wait 30 min until she woke up to take her home! It seems it was easier on Sierra than me. I was on the verge of tears everytime someone asked me if I’d found daycare, and how my daughter was etc… LOL – I guess I wouldn’t be upset if I didn’t care about her so much

Oh I’m so glad you found someone and that Sierra seems to be taking to it quite nicely. How was your first day back at work?
I’m glad you found someone you really like and that Sierra likes. Now I don’t feel so bad:sad:. And sounds like she did better at the daycare than she did with me anyway – because she cried for her “Mum” just before you got back. I am sure this is a huge relief for you.But anytime you want us for backup, you know where we live.

Way to go. We will be in the same excact boat one year from now so we hope we have the same luck as you. By the way, is she sleeping yet?
