Wow – I’ve never felt so loved and special as I did this weekend. My hubby and girls really out did themselves. They made me breakfast in bed and let me sleep in. (Though the kids did a great job of also helping me to eat my breakfast). My parents came over and my hubby made an awesome steak dinner for us. My hubby and kids even pretended that they like gardening, and helped me dig up weeds whenever it wasn’t raining
Seriously folks – we dug up weeds, weeds, and more weeds – 4 HUGE yard waste bags full (and there’s still some dandelions left!). Whose bright idea was it to ban pesticides in Ontario, anyways? Was it a secret plan to make us all more fit? If so, then it’s working – I can barely move tonight ’cause I’m so sore.
Dandelions aside, our weekend was fun. Mostly because Sierra had us in stitches with her one-liners:
- We called on Sierra’s friend to come out and play. The friend’s mom told us that she couldn’t come out because she was still in her PJ’s. Sierra replied: “I still have mine on too – Daddy put my sweatshirt overtop of my Jammies”.
- Sierra fell down and cut her hand. She began screaming and crying and carrying on like it was the end of the world. A neighbour ran across the street to see if Sierra was ok. Sierra held up her cut hand to the neighbour and sobbed: “I think I need surgery!”.
- I was exercising/dancing to my Core Rhythms Exercise DVD. Sierra looked up at the HOT ladies on the TV and asked: “Mommy, are those your friends? Are they coming to your Mother’s Day party tonight?”. Ummmm…no honey – they’re coming over for Father’s Day…
Kids really do say the darndest things don’t they?
PS – here’s a picture of the fresh cut Tuilps I gave pulled from my garden for my mom for Mother’s Day:
How was your Mother’s Day Weekend?

My mother’s day wasn’t as exciting as yours. But I did get clean kitchen and chocolate chip cookies out of it. I really wanted to sleep in but we had to get up and get ready for church

Happy Mother’s day to the BEST mommy ever!
Love the tulips and daffodils – Thank you Janice! Too bad I didn’t take them home with me. They looked so nice on the table during dinner and dinner was delicious thanks to Rob and Opa! I had fun making the cards with the girls and putting Brooke to bed. I love that she lets me bathe her and put her down for the night.

I’m glad you had a good Mother’s Day. At least the girls let you have a little of the breakfast in bed they made for you. LOL
