I can’t go to school looking like THIS!

green toe nails thumb I cant go to school looking like THIS! Yesterday Sierra got it in her head that she needed to go to the spa with mommy and get her toes painted.  Not just any colour – that would be too simple.  She absolutely insisted on getting them painted green.  Green because. "Mommy, green is my favourite colour".  She wanted to sit on the chair and soak her feet in water and then get them painted.

Unfortunately paying for two kids in daycare has made me into a self-declared recessionista, so going to a spa with Sierra is out, but doing them ourselves is in.  So off I went on a hunt for the most affordable green nail polish I could find.  Green is not an easy colour to find trust me.

Once I got home I painted her toe nails.  Then she insisted that I paint her finger nails too.  Then Brooke wanted her toe nails painted.  Then Sierra painted my toe nails.  Hubby totally felt left out and went to the basement man cave to hide.  I think he was afraid that if he stuck around he’d end up with green toe nails too.

Later that night Sierra was downstairs in the man cave with hubby relaxing and drinking her chocolate milk when she noticed that the paint on her finger nails had gotten chipped in her shower.

"Daddy!  Daddy!"
"My nails are chipped!  I can’t go to school looking like THIS!"

I was relaxing in bed with the latest copy of Runner’s World (does that really surprise you?), when hubby brought in an absolutely distraught 3 yr old little girl waving her fingers in the air.  "Mommy?", sniff… sniffle…. "Can you fix my nails for me?"

So I left my nice warm bed to fix her nails, ’cause she’s right – chipped nails MUST be fixed!

    Ah, she’s starting young.

I like the green idea though. Everyone does red, ya know.

    hey Janice,
What an awesome story! I would say it is hard to believe that a kid would have that reaction, but it sounds just like my six year old daughter! Still, Sierra is only 3! Wow, I didn’t know that it started that young!

    hey Janice,
Me again… I purposely put “Sierra” in my comment to see if your do-hicky thing does that where ever it sees the word, if you know what I’m taking about. Your widget is TOO COOL. What widget does that, that is, where ever you have Sierra, Brooke, or hubby, they have an underline and I can mouse over it to see their picture and info. I love it! Way, way, way cool! :)
