I Eat, I Sleep, I Poo…

I eat, I sleep, I poo – That’s all I do!

Poor, poor daddy. Mommy went out today to run some errands (return the rented breast pump, file for maternity benefits, pick up extra copies of our local paper to see our birth announcement etc…), leaving poor daddy home alone with his little girl for 3 whole hours! (We’re currently bottle feeding pumped milk b/c baby Sierra’s mouth is too small too latch). This gives mommy a bit of a rest. Any ways, while mommy was out Sierra was fussy the whole time, soiled 4 diapers and decided that this would be the time to switch from feeding every 3 hours to every 90 minutes. You should have seen daddy’s face when I got home. The poor, poor daddy was exhausted and near tears – not knowing what to do. Then, mommy picked up baby Sierra, and suddenly – everything was good in the world. She, and daddy are sleeping soundly now 😀 It’s moments like this that make being a mom worth it all 😀

  1. You reminded me of how my daughter was like that – she slept on my shins (cuz it was too damned sweltering hot to hold her) but was fine and quieted down because it was MY shins – I guess those babies know you like a book after being inside you for so long.

And you also reminded me in the previous post of that water gushing out. My doctor was hardly able to hang onto my daughter and he was totally soaked afterwards.

  2. Congratulations on your bundle of joy! This entry is bringing back memories of when I left hubby with our daughter for the first time. *hehehe* I hope you have a great weekend. Take care of yourself.

  3. that is lovely and oh so true. reading it reminds me of taking my own premmie home and how that played out. I hope she is ok in every sense of the word. You’ve not written about any complications so I assume she is fine.

  4. I’M SURE HE DONE GREAT! I KNOW WHEN MY OLDEST WAS BORN I WAS SCARED TO DEATH BY HAVING HIM ALL BY MY LONESOME THE FIRST FEW TIMES, BECAUSE I HAD NEVER BEEN AROUND BABIES! THE FIRST DIAPER I EVER CHANGED WAS A #2 WHEN HE WAS 1 DAY OLD. HIS MOM AND GRANDMA WERE THERE AND GOT A REALLY GOOD LAUGH, BUT HEY I GOT IT DONE!!!! HE WILL BE A GREAT DAD AND I’M SURE YOU WILL BE A GREAT MOM!

  5. Awww…that sounds so much like Steve’s first “home alone” time with Kaitlyn! You’ll both look back at that with fond memories!

  6. When my first Nephew was born my brother in law and I baby sat while my sister and mom went out for a little bit. Colt started crying, my Brother in law was holding him trying to quiten him, nothing was working and the BIL was breaking a sweat.
I mad him give my nephew to me, sat in a rocking chair and Colt promplty fell asleep. I think the BIL could have either hugged me or punched me.
