I never thought being home all by myself with two kids could possibly get worse – until Friday night… I’ll save ya the gory details, but essentially I had food poisoning while looking after a 5 monh old and a 2.5 yr old. Hubby was working in Calgary leaving me home alone for a few days. And of course, the poisoning had to hit me just before the busiest time of the day – bed time. While I was trying to clean up after dinner, do baths, get babies into pj’s, read stories, cuddle, nurse, rock etc… Arrrgh! I have to admit – Friday was one of those nights where I had to put myself first – yes the kids cried, but they were safe from harm. We all eventually got to bed, hubby came home Saturday morning and after a day of rest I’m feeling mucho better. Unfortunately, I may have passed some of the food poisoning onto the baby. Brooke’s been taking 2 hour naps, refusing to nurse and has thrown up after two feeds. I’ll have to watch her carefully and offer her expressed milk by syringe if she continues to turn me down.
