This is my Mamavation post for Monday, September 20, 2010.
How was your week last week? Did your drink your water? Get your beauty sleep? And eat your 7-8 servings of fruits and veggies? (Remember: fruit and veggies are chock full of fiber!).
After my vacation the previous week, I was back to my regular routine this week.Only this week was more hectic thanks to my oldest daughter’s return to school, and the start of swimming, skating and gymnastics lessons. Yep – we’re really back into the full swing of things! That’s ok though – Im one of those people who THRIVE on routine… and planning… etc..
I was fairly active this week, ate well, but had a hard time sleeping – I’m really starting to get anxious about the birth of this baby, and finishing work. There’s so much work to do until I start my maternity leave Oct. 22nd. I also have some great ideas for my blogs that I can’t wait to have the time to carry out – so I’ve been keeping myself awake with my dreams and anxiety. Another thing causing me anxiety is the pressure that baby is putting on my lungs – I feel like I’m not getting enough air when I lie down… then I get a mini panic attack… then I gasp for air… and can’t get enough air… and then I end up flinging the covers off and sitting up until I calm myself down… I cant wait until baby drops and I can breathe again
Another reason I could be having trouble sleeping is because it’s possible that my iron levels are back to normal, so the extra iron I’m taking is interfering with my circadian cycles. I’ll have to remember to ask my midwife to re-test me when I’m back there in a week from now.
Oh yeah! Speaking of my midwife… I had my 32 week appointment on Thursday. Everything is going awesome! I have all of you guys to thank for that, because I’m sure that I wouldn’ve stayed this active without trying to be a role-model for you. Thank you for all of your kind words & encouragement! My blood pressure is now up to a normal level, my weight gain has been slow and steady – I’m definitely not going to hit the 40lb gained mark like I did with my 2 previous pregnancies, baby’s growth is awesome and he/she is measuring a week ahead He/she has also rotated into a head down position – yay!
All in all, here’s a summary of what I accomplished last week:
Monday: Did my Walk and Tone mp3 Workout (3.5 km)
Tuesday: Couldn’t workout at lunch because I went to a United Way Fundraising BBQ at work.
Wednesday: Did my Walk and Tone mp3 Workout (3.5 km)
Thursday: No workout because I had to use my lunch for my midwife appointment.
Friday: Did my Walk and Tone mp3 Workout (3.5 km)
Saturday: Rest/clean my house.
Sunday: Rest/play with the kids
I’ve now walked/ran 463 km this pregnancy – another 37 km to go until I reach my goal of 500 km by birth!
