This is my Mamavation post for Monday, September13, 2010.
Hey everyone!
How was your week last week? Did your drink your water? Get your beauty sleep? And eat your 7-8 servings of fruits and veggies? (Remember: fruit and veggies are chock full of fiber!).
This week was quite possibly my worst week yet – but that’s ok, we’re all entitled to them occasionally, right?
I was on a stay-cation with my family this week which made it hard to find time to get my walk n tone in. Our week was super busy, and I have to think that although I wasn’t “working out”, I was indeed burning more calories than I do in a typical workday. Chasing, playing and bringing my girls to the park every day is tough work! I really don’t give their daycare care givers enough credit. Most nights I went to bed when the kids did – they wiped me out! At the same time it was really nice to spend some family time together, yanno, kind of like the calm before the storm
Despite the fact that my week wasn’t typical – it sure was fun!
Monday: Can’t remember what we did, but I’m sure I brought the kids to the park once, which is a 2k walk there and back.
Tuesday: Had a warm day so we took the kids to the beach – played in the lake with them, built a dam and taught the kids about dams, floods, silt etc…
Wednesday: Took my oldest daughter out for a “date”. We shopped at a mall for back-to-school clothes for 2 hours, had lunch at Johnny Rockets, then went and saw the movie Despicable Me. Later that day we took the kids to a nearby hotel because hubby had an early morning plane to catch up to Ottawa to get the new van he bought me (2010 KIA Sedona). I consider it a belated and early push-present for giving birth to our three kids. Oh – and we badly needed it because my old 8 yr old Santa fe was dying and couldn’t fit our growing family in it any longer.
Thursday: AKA Solo-parenting day 1 – Took the kids to the park not once, but TWICE! Hubby arrived home around 5:30 with my new van
LOVE!
Friday: AKA Solo-parenting day 2 – Took the kids to the park not once, but TWICE! (They were driving me nuts again
).
Saturday: Kids had Skating lessons and I relaxed.
Sunday: Kids had gymnastics lessons, then spent the remainder of the day cleaning, grocery shopping & getting ready for my oldest daughter’s first week of school (which included making playdough for her to share with her class).

Making Playdough
This week I’m back to work, but will no longer be doing my Boot Camp fitness class. My plan is to do my Walk n Tone workout on 3 or 4 of my lunches and to bring a healthy nutritious lunch each day.
Congrats to this week’s Sista of the Week: Stephanie, aka @fitmomtraining from the blog Fit Mom In Training. Stephanie is also known as “Mama Guns” because of her kicking arms and she’s also challenging us to her Mama Guns Buff N Touch Challenge.
I’m entering the challenge – so here are my “Mama Guns”:
This week’s blogging carnival is sponsored by Chefs Requsted. Chefs Requested is an official sponsor of the Mamavation campaign and sends their perfectly portioned steaks to the Mamavation Moms.
Have a great week everyone!!
Fitness Tip of The Day: Schedule your workouts. Mark them on the calendar and set-aside time to complete them. Consider them as important as any other appointment or event you have marked on your calendar.Related posts:
