Let’s talk about blogrolling… Baby, it’s just you and me! How do you decide who you add to your blogroll? How do you find new sites to visit? Do you only visit people who visit you and leave comments? Do you use Blog Explosion? Do you scour the blogrolls of other blogs? What makes you click on a link in the blogroll? The blog name?
Me? I look for something in common – family, pregnancy, sens of humour, same great typing skills as me, running etc…

I look for someone who has the same interests as I do. Most of all, I look for other mom’s who write blogs. I’m at home all day with my kids and the dayhome kids and it’s nice to communicate with someone across the country. The name and the look of the blog is the inital attraction but what they say is most important.
All I care about is if the author is a cute girl.

I check out the blogrolls of my favorite blogs, like yours and will add them to my blogroll if after visiting a few times they keep my attention. I used to use Blogexplosion a lot and found a few wonderful blogs that way, but alas, then I learned of the lazy way to earn hits there and I don’t surf as much as I did before.
As for what makes me click on a link? A catchy name will do it, however if it’s on one of my ‘regulars’ blogs I figure it’s getting a nod of recommendation.
Thats a good question. I’ll always visit someone who stops by and leaves a comment…and if there’s something there that I can identify with, I’ll definitely blogroll them. Otherwise its random. Just whatever I connect with.
Is there blogrolling etiquette? If someone blogrolls me then I feel like I have to link them too. But it becomes impossible eventually to link everyone. I usually link the blogs that I can relate to and know that I will keep reading..LIKE YOURS!
I list some of the ones I read on my site, but sometimes I am a little slow in adding…like I only added you the other day, sorry, but I have been reading you for ages. I also use bloglines which lists way more sites than my page does and I don’t always have time to read em all. I find sites by reading my comments and comments on others. And in some ways I am opposite to Mark…I visit “cute guy” sites, like Mark, Jon, Chris, Brent and a few others

I’m like Chris, I always visit everyone who comments on my site (which is about 5 people) and if I like their site I usually blogroll them. I also check out blogrolls of people I like and might blogroll some of their favorites too. If I find someone has blogrolled me, but they never comment, I will reciprocate, because I don’t comment on every blog I read either. It helps that only 10 people read my blog, so I don’t have to work very hard!
i only link the blogs that pay me. and, of course, the blogs of cute chicks.
