Scariest Thing

One time when my son was really little (and I didn’t have a car), we had gone to get groceries. My hands were full of grocery bags and when we got off the bus we had to cross a busy street.

We waited til the traffic died down a bit, but by the time we got halfway across the traffic had started again. I couldn’t hold his hand because I had about 5 bags in each hand, so I was expecting him to just stay by my side (as he was told to do).

However, at one point when I had stopped because a car was coming… he didn’t stop, he took a step forward. Luckily for me, the car that was coming slowed right down, and my son ended up stopping too, so nothing happened.

But by the time we got into the house and I got those bags down I was screeching and screaming and crying and ranting about safety and crossing the street, and yada yada yada, the way only a mother can icon smile Scariest Thing
