Pearson is the school Governor General Adrienne Clarkson came to visit on her tour of “at risk” neighbourhoods last April.
But that’s not how principal Peter Kalanderopolous sees his students. “The perception of Malvern is so pathetic and burdensome. It weighs you down. It doesn’t allow the kids to reach their potential. It doesn’t allow them to breathe,” he says from his office, where an autographed picture of Clarkson and her husband, John Ralston Saul, hangs in solitary splendour. “It’s unwarranted.”LINK
Come on! I graduated from Pearson – you expect me to believe that the reputation of the school is “unwarranted”? I’ll tell you one thing – I wouldn’t have the career I have today if it wasn’t for my parents bravely dragging me to a new school in a much nicer town to do my grade 13 courses!

I totally agree. How many doctors do you think there were in our senior class? Now how many criminals adn welfare recipients? It’s defintely not unwarranted. Until they address Malvern’s infastructure, and until they bring a zero tolerance policy I don’t see anything happening to change things.
