The Choice is… Blue?

I’m 1lb away from my pre-pregnancy weight, which leaves me with 11lbs until I reach my goal weight. I’ve been working out like crazy: Mommy & Me Fitness 2 times/week and running 3 times/week. But the weight was coming off slowly – very slowly – at a rate of about 1/2 lb/week! Then I found these: President’s Choice Blue Menu Frozen Dinners.

They’re freaking awesome! I’ve been having one for lunch everyday since the beginning of January! And guess what? Since then I’ve lost 8lbs – a rate of 1lb/week. Now that doesn’t sound like a lot, but it’s double the rate I was losing weight before. I’ve also been trying to eat more fruits and veggies as snacks etc… Anyways, the best part of these are that they’re portion controlled, low in fat and calories, high in fiber and protein. And they taste good too! For example:

PC Blue Menu Tomato and Herb Chicken
Seasoned chicken fillets, with zucchini and red and yellow peppers in a Mediterranean-inspired tomato sauce.

Calories 150 Cal
Fat 3.5 g
Protein 15 g

I kind of wish I had alot more weight to lose – then I could be like Jared Fogle of Subway fame and go on a Blue Menu only diet, lose tons of weight and then make a whole wack of cash promoting the product.

And more K than Na… that’ll help your running too! The calories seem a little low, but if your eating healthier elsewhere and getting your carbs (with low fat) for exercise you should have enough energy for your running goals.

and just how awesome are they?

IF you want to get their sponsorship, you should create a portfolio of your physique from when you started until now. That would be a great job to have!

I particularly like one that’s not listed, for some reason, on their site: Chicken Cacciatore. Low fat, tasty, and a pretty decent source of protein (for a meal of its size).

I don’t know why they call these things “dinners,” though; all of them (PC Blue Line, Pastaria, Lean Cuisine, whatever) only keep me going for about two hours and then I’m hungry again.
