Thick In The Head

!@(sleeptime.jpg popimg: “Naptime!”)Picture of The Day: Sierra sleeping in Mommy’s bed.

Yep – that’s me. Thick, thick, thick. I’ve been freaked out this week that something was wrong with Sierra or my milk supply. She’s been nursing constantly – 10 times a day since – oh about Sunday and she’s also been sleeping an obscene amount. I was physically and emotionally exhausted last night and freaked out on my poor unsuspecting hubby. Isn’t it funny how hubby’s can step back from a situation and see it for what it really is? He says: “Ummm – maybe it’s a growth spurt?”. Oh yeah! Babies typically have a growth spurt at 6 months! I’m so thick! He fed her with a bottle and put her to bed. (Yep – she’s taking that Playtex Bottle with the Orthodontic nipple that y’all suggested we try – so btw- thank you, thank you, thank you!). This morning, after a very good sleep ’cause I finally let my mind rest, I woke up full – and wouldn’t you know it, Sierra has stopped the insane amount of nursing and sleeping! Hmmm… I wonder how much weight she gained this past week?

hehe Being a Mommy for the first time is so challenging. Growth spurts are crazy! Glad you both made it through!

Before I even read CosmoBoy’s assessment, I was thinking Growth Spurt. My favorite is the low grade fever and crying and remembering… he’s not sick… he’s teething! That one always gets me.

Glad to hear that Mommy and Sierra are doing just dandy!

Growth spurts definately can be interesting. It’s also hard to think a bit when you are probably tired as well.

  5. Heh, heh. Wait till she starts cutting teeth! Then you get to see more unexplained behavior changes. After that you are set until puberty I think. :)

    I thought so.

Rose hits 6 months between Christmas & New Year. Should make for a busy week.

Glad you figured it out, and that she has calmed down for you.

dang, I wish I could caulk it up to a growth spurt whenever I pig out and then sleep for days on end…. sigh.

They are little mysteries, aren’t they. I still say they should come with a digital read-on on their foreheads that just tell you what’s up. It would make it so much easier on everyone!

LOL don’t you love those growth spurts? I don’t think they stop until they hit 18. But thankfully they don’t breastfeed that long. ;)
