Here’s an update to yesterday’s post:
Sierra totally remembered about our fight in the morning – the first thing she did? She asked to take a shower! Brooke was still sleeping so I happily agreed. I felt so bad about the night before that Sierra had chocolate cereal for breakfast, chocolate toast for lunch (Nutella – yum!), and chocolate milk for an afternoon snack. At bed time this evening I said: “Let’s take a shower”, she said: “No shower – naptime!”. It seems my point yesterday was made. Though I must admit it didn’t take much convincing to get her into the shower tonight.
The poor kid – life must be so confusing to a two year old – no wonder our minds block out the first few years of our lives!

I think we always take these little episodes more to heart than the kids. All she will remember is, “Mmmm, chocolate!”
You’re doing your best; that’s all that matters.
I agree with your ‘setting the rules’ to a 2 year old. Mine is the same way. If I go back on my word then she knows she can play me. I agree with mom taking it harder than the kid. Most of the time they don’t remember or even think twice. You made it up to her the next day and that’s what she will remember.
You made it up to her and she still loves you. Don’t be so hard on yourself. It can be very frustrating at times when dealing with an overly tired toddler.
